Geography
Subject Leader: Mr R Hendley
Geography at Robert Clack provides learners with a clear idea of how our earth works and how the actions of people play a fundamental part in the preservation of our planet. The curriculum provides a balanced coverage of physical, environmental and human aspects of geography across a wide range of locations from local, to national and international.
As a department we focus on geographical issues and an investigative approach towards the need for careful management of both human and physical environments. It requires candidates to understand the different viewpoints, values and attitudes held by a variety of stakeholders and helps learners develop and refine their problem solving and decision making skills.
As a consequence, studying geography provides pupils with the knowledge and skills necessary to understand the world and how and why it is changing. It ensures they are equipped to pursue interests in their working life ranging from such things as industry, through their knowledge of place and business, to work for environmental agencies, charitable organizations, local or national government or the education sector.
