Achieve Excellence Programme
‘This Programme has taught me to have a proper mindset for classes and school overall’
‘They teach you a lot about yourself and how to strive for the best in school.’
‘For me, the most useful session was “What makes a successful student”. This is because going again through it, gave me more guidance on how to become the student I’ve always wished to be; kind, smart, funny, and it makes going to Robert Clack way easier, knowing how to become successful as a student.’
Introduction
The most successful students have well developed learning behaviours- these learning behaviours can be summarised as VESPA (Vision, Effort, Systems, Practice, Attitude).
Through our Achieve Excellence Programme (AEP) we aim to guide and teach our students to develop these attributes and become successful learners.
Through a carefully planned programme, our students from Year 7 to 13 are supported to develop the right skills at the right time in their education. This is achieved through:
Mrs E. Georgaka (Egeorgaka@robertclack.co.uk)
Assisstant Headteacher - Pupil Progress Lead
Please see what our students at KS3 are saying:
‘I used to be quiet, and barely talk in class. But I persevered and overcame my shyness. I talk more in class than I used to and I now get more involved in lesson time. I believe this has helped me improve into being a better and successful student.’
‘The sessions helped me find my strengths and weaknesses. They helped me improve myself into becoming a better student and I started to notice that my test scores were also going higher. Now, I am more confident and I started to get involved in lessons.’
‘Preparing for revision helped me see that it’s not as scary as it seems, when you plan things and stick to a routine.’
‘One of the most useful sessions of the Achieve Excellence Programme was the lesson that taught us that mistakes are part of success and the importance of having a positive mindset. This teaches us to persevere and work hard!’
‘I have learnt that it is never too late to create good habits and that revising in an effective way can actually help with improving test scores.’
‘The revision strategies were very useful and I think that it really helps me when I revise. It really helps me get good scores in my test and I think that's what helped me become a more successful student than I was before.’
‘Organization has helped me the most this term, as I have always been keeping on top of my classwork and homework.’
‘I learnt the different strategies I can use to deal with my education and how to focus on my mistakes in order to improve.’
‘I found useful learning ways to improve our learning for example, reflections. This enables us to track how we are doing in lessons and at home and to know how to improve our learning.’
