About the subject

Year 12 Overview (new Spec)

Year 13 Overview (New Spec)

The specifications are designed to encourage students to consider the practical application of business and economic concepts. The units provide the opportunity to explore the theories and concepts in the context of events in the business and economic world.

BTEC Business Studies

This six-unit BTEC National Award offers a specialist qualification that focuses on particular aspects of employment within the sector. In order to pass the course students must successfully complete six portfolio based units. There are no exams on this course.

The results achieved by Business Studies students at all levels exceed national standards. Staff have high expectations and students are encouraged to set themselves high standards. In 2014, at key stage 5 the department exceeded targets with over 80% of pupils gaining an A*-A grade. We are proud of both pupils and staff.
